Driver/ Labourer  

Salary - Competitive

37 hours per week

6-month fixed term contract 

The Nottingham City Council (NCC), Housing Services team (the new name for Nottingham City Homes) has been creating homes and communities where people want to live for over a decade. Our services and our aims remain the same as we move back into direct management by NCC, and we continue to seek talented people who want to make a difference to peoples’ lives, to join the team and support in our mission.

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced driver/ labourer to join the stores team. Duties will include carrying out collection, labouring, and delivery duties to support the delivery of effective and efficient services to our tenants. As a Driver/Labourer your duties will include:

  • A key role supporting our teams in the delivery of materials.
  • Providing the efficient transportation and safe delivery and collection of building and similar materials to and from site.
  • Document completion and communication with a diverse customer base.
  • Customer service as top priority - delivering a timely, efficient, safe, and friendly service.
  • Undertaking duties in line with Health and Safety Legislation.
  • Prioritising workload with minimum supervision.
  • Demonstrating an organised yet flexible approach and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Practical application of Health and Safety Legislation in the construction industry, particularly Health and Safety at work and the COSHH Regulations.

 

Essential Requirements:

  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Knowledge of health & safety at work.
